Built on a pristine pasture with an inspiring view of Mount Olympus as a backdrop this incredible project is rooted to the site and its owners. Virginia and Chris sought out a home that would operate on minimal energy, work its environment, and promote exceptional modern design. Utah-based architecture firm Imbue Design saw great opportunity for innovation through this fun, young progressive family. The “Pasture Project” from its initial design phase took advantage of all site and passive energy sources. Unique features incorporated into the project include and 85 foot Trombe wall heating system, subsurface thermal properties, natural ventilation, convective circulation, solar orientation, solar energy, and thermal mass. Spatially the residence was formed around the family’s open lifestyle with seamless expansive spaces and an ardent connection to their beautiful surroundings.

12th Avenue Iron, located in Seattle, WA, specializes in large-scale projects providing unique approaches to fabrication and joinery working with a wide variety of materials and metals. They are launching their first line of guest-authored design products with the Tom Kundig Collection from Olson Kundig Architects.
This outstanding collection features hand-crafted steel accessories with a low-tech straight forward approach to hardware that consists of twenty three products. It is a complete offering of unique cut-and-folded steel cabinet pulls, sliding door pulls, door hardware, rollers and hooks.
Additionally there is a Black Table series comprised of a console table, coffee table and a low shelf all of which are folded steel plate, blackened and with a wax finish. This collection is envisioned as the first of several product lines that with be produced from the award winning firm.

Small Twister sculpture has been build using the technique I’ve explained for other sculptures: 3d model using a pc program, PVC plates assembly, polyester covering and final smoothing of all surfaces.
Small Glimpse sculpture is instead part of a bigger project consisting of sculptures of the same shape using three different materials. The initial model was made using polyester covered cardboard sheets. Then I constructed one sculpture of PVC using the same process described above. I finally made three bronze copies using the investment casting technique. And one final copy, Small Glimpse Glossy, in plastic using the same mould I’ve utilised for the bronze copies.
What is new about these two sculpture is the final decision to colour them and cover them with glossy varnish.
