The Cliffhanger is a design by Thomas Schmitz and its natural habitat is primarily – but not exclusively – geared toward German “Altbau” high ceilinged, pre war apartments, since two parallel water pipes are necessary to utilize the clever helper. Cliffhanger is simply clipped between them and is then used as a flexible hook.

Ivan Zhang was born in Shanghai and graduated from the Industrial Design Department of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. He is now pursuing his masters at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Germany. He specializes in product design, furniture design, and user experience.
We usually tilt the last book on the shelf in order to prevent the books from falling. A wide variety of bookends are on the market for the same purpose. Bookshelf‘ solves this problem by creating a radius on the shelf to keep the books on the shelf to one side without the additional rectification. The natural shape allow the books to fall into place naturally.
