The “Foster Loop” home balances between being a simple home of residence and blending into the serene environment of the campgrounds in Mazama, Washington. balance associate architects designed a place for familial comforts that almost becomes a cousin to the surrounding trees with its wooden construction and simple architecture. The house is raised above the ground by small concrete piers. A slightly elevated walk welcomes guests into the house as it leads them to an entry way and stairs. Inside is an 1 1/2 story sized living room and kitchen that is attached by a centrally placed fireplace and stairs. Tent like bedrooms with low walls situate upstairs. A harmonious transition between inside and out is created from the deck and elevated catwalk that runs between the trees, through a small valley and then into the grassy clearing of the woods.
