Seeking to maintain intact the original decorative and constructional characteristics of the original structure built in 2006, portuguese practice ASPA Arquitectos have recently renewed and transformed the single level space of the ”Junqueira Apartment“ into a contrasting two level dwelling using the considerable ceiling height of 5.2 meters of the apartment.

Flattered is a cross between a small hotel and a totally private apartment rental in the charming historical city of Porto, on a street lined with traditional small shops. The building contains 5 comfortable apartments, each offering either city or sea views. While a breakfast basket and daily cleaning services are provided, the facilities are otherwise minimal and allows guests the freedom to discover the city at their leisure.
All units in the building contain a bedroom with double bed, living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. The living area also contains a double bed and, in some apartments, a 1-person sleeper sofa. The interiors are modern with a Portuguese twist, enhanced by the addition of illustrations by up-and-coming Portuguese artists adorning the walls.

This funky apartment in Sao Paulo, Brazil is chalk full of color which helps to make everything seem so much larger. Spotted on Casa, this small living space is only 700 square feet (65 square meters) but with an abundance of light and color, the home feels spacious and cozy. This combination is the big hit of this interior project, which was carried out by the architect and designer Adriana Yazbek. The apartment was originally compartmentalized, which made the rooms dark and unlivable. Adriana opened one of the two rooms and joined to the living room, organizing the office. The door was taken out of the bedroom and exchanged with a curtain to add privacy and separate the space. The flooring was replaced with wood in the dry areas and blue cement in the kitchen and colorful tiling in the bathroom.
