The Project
Based on a basic building principle this range of animals aims at experiencing how simple shapes can motivate your imagination.
These are simple elements, like the pieces of wood we used to turn into weapons, bows and snakes when we were kids.
As in a construction set these small shapes are built following an elementary pattern: gluing and cutting angles and edges from a beechwood section.

The Production
Jean-Sébastien Poncet experiences once again the drawing through the tool. The result is a range of normed elementary pieces of wood which once put together create archetypal animals : doe, cow, bull, seal, rabbit or deer.
Through a mathematical principle of cutting and angles Jean-Sébastien brings us into his very own universe where simple wood rafters can become elements of an elementary Noah’s arch. This arch will beyond doubt grow in the future.
It was then natural to imagine them in various sizes. That is why Jean-Sébastien drew Mon Gros Lapin (My Big Bunny). It is available in larch and Douglas pine /Oregon pine (grown in the Forez area) which enables him to remain in the garden or the yard rain or shine.
Animali Domesticki, is a series of animals that need to be tamed by children and grownups.
